If you're on windows 10, attempt to run it for compatibility for 8 or 7, make sure the game is fullscreened, don't use big picture mode (doesn't work for me), make sure the game is set as administrator. I have to reboot my PC whenever I launch DSR! Im in the same exact situation, every time i reboot it works, but when the game is closed and re-opened my controller will not function :( no avail! Weirdly, it works just once after each reboot. I''ve also tried what Zaevan recommended.
But then I got an error saying 'Failed to initialze Steam'.
